Official Rules
This year we are accepting only electronic contest entries in pdf format. The contest entry must be limited to and not exceed the first thirty (30) pages of your script (or the first act). The contest PDF must include a synopsis of no more than one page, a cover sheet/title page with a one or two sentence logline under the title.
Only RWA members may enter. The entry must not be contracted, optioned or produced before May 1st, 2010.
2. Standard script format is required. Do not include your name anywhere on the contest entry itself or the cover sheet. Use two brads to hold together each hard copy of the entry pages and cover sheet.
3. **Finalists: For the top three finalists, a complete hard copy script must be submitted for final judging. Use two brads to hold together each hard copy of the entry pages and cover sheet. Do not include your name anywhere on the entry.

4. Please remember your contest entry is not valid until we receive your contest fee.
You have two options:
Paypal (use buttons below)and email payment to: RTS.contest@gmail.com. Remember to submit the entry fee (U.S. funds only) of $20 for Scriptscene Members and $25 for non-members.
or snail mail a check to the Scriptscene Treasurer. Please make your check payable to Scriptscene RWA.

5. Your entry must be received on or before May 1, 2010. Finalist's hard copies must be submitted by June 10th, 2010.
6.Judges may make written comments directly on the script or attach a paper copy which will be scanned and emailed to entrant. The Preliminary score sheets will be completed and returned via EMAIL. The Final Judge will make comments and these will be returned to the Finalists only.
7. Entry must be an original story created solely by the entrant. The entrant has all rights to their story.
If the entry is collaboration, all the rules apply for each writer. Though one entry and fee is submitted, each writer must complete an entry form and sign an agreement.
By entering the contest, the entrant(s) agrees to abide by the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Romancing the Script contest.
8. The entrant must have registered the complete screenplay with either the Writer's Guild of America or the United States Copyright Office.
9. No fees will be returned on any entry that is disqualified for any reason.
10. This contest is limited to the first 25 entries received. Entries over the limit of 25 will be accepted only if enough judges are available to give each a fair reading. The fee will be returned on any entry not accepted under these circumstances.
11. Scriptscene RWA reserves the right to cancel the contest if fewer than ten entries are received. In the event of such a cancellation, entries and fees will be returned to entrants.
12. The entrant must be a member of Romance Writers of America in good standing. By entering the contest, the entrant is providing permission for the contest coordinator to verify standing.
13. You may enter no more than two scripts, and the contestant's agreement must be signed and returned for each entry.
14. All electronic entry forms and PDF entries should be emailed to rts.contest@gmail.com as attachments. Do not forget to email your entry form and contest entry.
ENTRIES must have romantic elements. The romance must be either the main plot or the subplot.
